Plants Hanging On
I'm surprised by how many plants are still growing on the roof. Usually by this time of year I'm down to 1 vegetable plant from the summer, this year I have 5. I wonder how long they'll last, will some make it to frost or will I breakdown before then and cut them down?
Part of me is happy that I'm stilling eating fresh food from the roof, another part is eager to get the garden stowed away before the wind really picks up. It gets pretty bitter up here by late October, not sure if I want to be doing the majority of garden cleanup when the wind starts burning the skin.
Jasper F1 cherry tomato.
Japanese Black Trifele tomato.
Beaver Lodge tomato. I think by this weekend the last tomatoes will be harvested and the container prepared for storage.
Just a single handful of Butterbean soybean pods left on the vines.
Cosmonaut Volkov tomato.
I just noticed one more tomato on this plant.
