Choosing different vegetable seeds to grow each season is one of my favorite parts about gardening. Since I have very limited room to grow things in my rooftop container garden I have to rigorously edit what I plant. I stick with vegetables that produce multiple fruits per plant. I love onions and carrots, but they're not an efficient use of my available space so they're not an option for me to grow. These are the ones that made the cut:
Celebrity Tomato: 2 plants
Orange Paruche Cherry Tomato: 1 plant
Hansel Eggplant: 2 plants
Golden Star Pepper (yellow sweet bell pepper): 4 plants
California Wonder Pepper (red/green sweet bell pepper): 1 (maybe)
Orange Belle Hybrid II Pepper (orange sweet bell pepper): 4 plants
Jalapeno Heaven Hybrid: 1 plant
Babylon Cucumber: 1 plant
Oregon Sugar Pod II Peas: 1 12" container
The orange pepper, the jalapeno and the red/green pepper are seeds I kept from last year. I like the orange pepper so much that I think I'll plant it every year.
