Grow Forth and Prosper: 2014 Vegetable Seed Giveaway

If you would like some seeds just email me at thegardener at bucolicbushwick dotcom and I'll send you whatever seeds you've requested as long as I still have them in stock.

Cherry Tomato: Sunsugar F1, 62 Days
Fantastic tasting cherries, unfortunately the plant struggled in the rooftop environment so I can't recommend it to fellow rooftop gardeners. Ground level gardeners however should not have the same problems. If you like Sungold you'd like this variety as well.

Eggplant: Orient Express F1, 58 Days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, great flavor, productive plants. Recommended

Melon: Lil Keeper F1
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, excellent flavor, very productive plants. Highly recommended.

Sweet Corn: Sugar Buns F1, 70 Days
No success for me on the roof, but that shouldn't stop you from trying them!

Sweet Pepper: Giant Aconcagua OP, 75 Days [3rd Generation Rooftop Seeds]
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, great flavor, very productive plants. Open pollinated so you can save seeds! Highly recommended. A Bucolic Bushwick favorite.

Sweet Pepper: Orange Blaze F1, 65-70 days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, excellent flavor, productive plants. My favorite seed of 2014.

Tomato: Beaverlodge Slicer OP, 55 days [2nd Generation Rooftop Seeds]
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, excellent flavor, very productive, compact plants. Open pollinated so you can save seeds! A Bucolic Bushwick favorite and Top Rooftop Seed Recommendation

Tomato: Pink Berkeley Tie Dye OP, 75 Days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, excellent flavor. Not very productive, but the flavor made up for it. Open pollinated so you can save seeds! Recommended.

Watermelon: Little Baby Flower F1, 70 Days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, very productive plants. Recommended.

Grow Forth and Prosper: 2011 Vegetable Seed Giveaway

If you would like some seeds just email me at thegardener at bucolicbushwick dot com.

Cherry Tomato: Sun Gold F1, 57 days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, disease resistant, great tasting fruits. Highly recommended.

Cucumber: Lemon, 68 days
Container friendly. Rooftop friendly? Questionable, but the fruits are never bitter! My plant was a stressed, diseased wreck that occasionally ran out of water and it still never produced a bitter cucumber. Highly recommended.

Eggplant: Fairy Tale F1, 65 days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, non bitter eggplants. Recommended.

Melon: Tasty Bites F1, 80 days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, awesome flavor. My favorite seed of 2011, highly recommended.

Sweet Pepper: King Crimson, 63 days green, 75 days red
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, sweet & crunchy fruit. Recommended.

Tomato: Lemon Perfection, 70 days
Container friendly, rooftop friendly, very productive plants, unfortunately their flavor was unremarkable.

Tomato: Valencia, 76 days
Did not do well on the rooftop. Very tasty tomatoes though so I would recommend it for ground level or sheltered gardens.

Free Bag O Veggies!

I have a grocery bag heavy with organic rooftop vegetables that are ready and waiting for a new home. They were originally meant for a friend, but they weren't able to pick them up in time to catch their flight. I have more than enough at home so they'll go to anybody willing to come pick them up in Manhattan. They'll be in a commercial building very close to the Union Square subway station.

The winner of this contest must write a post on their blog about what they did/cooked with these veggies with a link back to my site. You could also add me to your blogroll if you're willing. If you don't have a blog then just tell all your friends about me and encourage them to visit my site.

First commenter wins. Ready, set, go!

Update: Ok, forget I said anything. I told someone in my building about the contest and they asked for the bag, so I gave it to them. I promise next time I'll actually see the contest through to the end.
